G-Dragon was an SM trainee for 5 years

Every fan of G-Dragon knows that this Big Bang leader used to be part of “Little Roola” when he was young but there’s more to this boy’s past you haven’t heard about just yet.

G-Dragon revealed in a recent interview (follow up of the one where he talked about his concert scandal),

I first started going on TV on MBC’s BoBoBo. It’s the best to stand next to BoMi nuna and because I danced so much, I always got the spot next to her. That’s when Roola’s company spotted me and added me to be part of “Little Roola.” They dressed us just like Roola and we went on tour with them. I could barely speak but we had a carol album.




As time passed, Roola’s popularity went down and “Little Roola” failed to stay together. Little G-Dragon was shocked by this.


He said,

I was an 8-year-old and thinking about the fact that “Little Roola” was gone made me really shocked. I thought I would stay a singer in that position. I remember I told my mom that I didn’t want to do anything like this anymore. That’s when I started to do things any other normal kid did, go to school, study, etc.

But he couldn’t stay away from his talents for too long. He went on a ski trip with his family and won a dance competition while he was there. He was competing against older boys but it didn’t matter. The moderator of the event was none other than Lee Soo Man, nowadays more well known as the founder and director of SM Entertainment. Lee Soo Man recruited G-Dragon after seeing his talents.

G-Dragon was a trainee at SM Entertainment for five whole years. It was around the time when H.O.T was really popular and S.E.S members, BoA and Shinhwa members were all trainees as well.

G-Dragon said,
When I first went in after signing the contract, it was before SM really found its place. Because of that, I wouldn’t practice everyday. It would be once a month or once every three months. I bet SM people won’t even remember me. I wasn’t noticeable really unless I was dancing. I’m not really good looking now but back then I had a face of a brat. I danced pretty well but couldn’t really sing. The company couldn’t really figure out what to do with me. I used to play on Shinhwa hyungs’ knees but I bet they can’t remember that.

He found himself kind of confused at SM. One day, he heard Wu-Tang Clan’s music at a friend’s house and started to take lessons for freestyle rap. That was the PeopleCrew’s practice room and more will be revealed in the next segment of the interview.
I don’t know what shocks me more. The fact that he could’ve been in an SM idol group or the fact that he was such a cute little kid. Look at those pictures!

Video promotion of Big Bang’s Electric Love Tour in Japan

Last month we reported that Big Bang will hold a concert series in Japan titled the Electric Love Tour on various dates from February 10th – 16th.



Recently a video promotion of Big Bang and this upcoming Electric Love Tour aired in Japan. The video also states that some of Big Bang’s past concerts, such as G-Dragon’s controversial Shine A Light Concert will also air soon in Japan.


There’s no time for rest for Big Bang as their Korean Concert 2010 Big Bang Concert Big Show will be held next week. They’ll have a little more than a week to recuperate before going to Japan for the Electric Love Tour concert series. Good luck to them!

Daesung never cooked in Family Outing?

Big Bang’s mood maker Daesung said that he has never really “cooked” during his stay on SBS’s Family Outing.



Recently as a guest on UFO radio Daesung revealed, “After I was cast as a member of Family Outing, the question people ask me most is if I improved on my cooking skills. But the thing is that I never really made a meal on Family Outing.”


He continued, “I’m only a cook’s helper. To tell you the truth, I don’t even know the steps of cooking. Starting this year though I’ll take a challenge and get my cooking skills tested by my (Big Bang) members.”

Daesung’s Cotton Candy released

Big Bang’s Daesung has finally released his new single Cotton Candy, and it is being made available for free!







Daesung’s past solo tracks brought much fun and energy but this time the track will be more calm and take upon a whole different style. The song has a soft melody with his husky yet warm vocals that’s sure to capture the audience.






YG Entertainment revealed, “Just this time, we’re releasing the single for 3 days on a free release so that many of the fans can listen to the song and come enjoy it at the Big Bang 2010 Big Show concert.” This is a pretty big deal and a great marketing strategy because Korea’s policy on piracy of music is insanely strict.






Cotton Candy will be out for free via YG Music, Melon, Naver Music, Daum Music, Mnet.com, Soribada and Bugs for 3 days until the 29th.

Big Bang misses their Korean fans

Big Bang has been MIA in the kpop scene, due to the boys’ album and concert promotions in Japan. However, despite their busy schedules in Japan, Big Bang has not forgotten their beloved VIPs in their mother country of Korea. Recently, the boys revealed some interesting tidbits regarding their Korean fans and activities on UFO Radio.

Question: The word/phrase that Big Bang uses the most.

Seungri: “I miss you like crazy.” We aren’t doing any album promotions in Korea, so we can’t see our fans as much. Thus, we say, “I miss you” a lot … Because we are always moving around, there are times when I feel lonely and tired, and those are the times when I miss our Korean fans the most.

Statement: Your cooking skills must have improved a lot because of Family Outing.

Yang Hyun Suk says Big Bang is over?

On today’s episode of Kang Shim Jang, Big Bang’s Daesung talked more than just about his phonebook.

He told a story about how he would get a lot of prank texts from the members. One day, he got a text from 2NE1 Minzy’s number and it read, “Oppa, I love you.” Daesung got really confused and worried but he found out that Taeyang had sent it to him as a joke. The only problem was, that wasn’t the end of the prank texts sent by Big Bang members.

He got a text from Seungri’s number that said, “Today, can I sleep next to you?” It was actually G-Dragon who had sent the text. Daesung said he couldn’t trust his members because the pranks went too far and one day they all gathered and promised each other to stop doing them.

Then about a month later, all members got a text from CEO Yang Hyun Suk that said, “There is no more Big Bang. It’s over.” The members all thought it was a prank from another member so they suspected each other but it wasn’t done by any of them. They rushed to Yang Hyun Suk but it wasn’t him either. To this day, they have no idea who sent the text.

Daesung wrapped up his story by saying that people should not send prank texts. He said, “You lose trust.” He’s definitely right but I’m still curious as to who send the text message that almost ended Big Bang.

Big Bang’s Daesung reveals his 3rd female’s number

On January 10th we revealed that Big Bang’s Daesung mentioned that he had three celebrity female numbers stored on his phone. Two of them were Lee Hyori and SES Bada (Sea), but the third was a mystery. On today’s Strong Heart episode he revealed that the third female celebrity is Kara’s Kang Ji Young.







How did he get her number? Well, it was revealed that it occurred during a video conference call on cell phones between Lee Hyori and Kara. Lee Hyori on the phone showed on the video that she was there with Daesung. Goo Hara then revealed that Kang Ji Young’s ideal guy was Daesung, thats when Kang Ji Young took the phone and greeted Daesung and they exchanged numbers. After this was revealed, Daesung became a bit apprehensive on the set. Daesung stated that shortly after this video call, Kang Ji Young sent him a text message stating, “Continue to work hard filming.” After Daesung received this text he said he drew the line there. He replied with “I’ll work hard but that’s it!” which drew a lot of laughter from the audience.

Kara dances with Taeyang on Strong Heart

Big Bang’s Taeyang appeared on last week’s episode of Strong Heart. Taeyang appeared once again on this week’s episode. On today’s show, instead of having a dance battle with Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, he danced with the pretty girls of Kara.

Kara’s Gyuri and Goo Hara got down with Taeyang to his hit single Look Only At Me. That is until comedian Jung Joo Ri interrupted and danced with him. Jung Joo Ri loved the dance so much that she wanted to get on top of him… but the other Strong Heart members prevented the disaster from happening just in time. TOP’s school photo is great

Aside from rapping and acting, TOP of Big Bang has been blessed with a prominent jawline, towering height and piercing eyes, which have all played to his advantage thus far. Hence, it comes as no surprise that his school photo for Dankook University has recently taken the internet by storm for no apparent reason other than the fact that he just looks damn good.


Besides his acting and Big Bang duties, TOP (real name: Choi Seung Hyun) has been enrolled as a student at Dankook University since 2008 after he passed the entrance exams in 2007. He’s currently double majoring in Theater and Film.

His school photo has been busily traveling online portal sites, shaking the hearts of fan girls who may have forgotten the effect TOP tends to have on the ladies (and guys).

Looks like the ladies of 2NE1 will be showing up to Big Bang’s 2010 Big Show Concert! Not only will they be gracing fans with their presence, but they will also be performing their hit songs on all 3 days. Perhaps even a joint stage for “Lollipop”? Let’s not be too greedy, now.
