先 日、また別の雑誌の撮影に行ってきましたよ。
The other day, I went again to another magazine photoshoot.

天気も良くて素敵な所での撮影でした!
The weather was fine and wonderful in the place of the photoshot!



いつもお世話になっているカメラマンさんとスタッフさんにもお会いしてきました!
和気あいあいな感じで楽しかったですよ。
I went to meet with the always assisting camera man-san and the staff!!

今日は、スタジオにてリハでしたよ！
毎回楽しんでいますよ！
Today we had a rehearsal at the studio!
Everytime is a lot of fun!

あと、楽器屋さ んにミニキーボードを購入の為行ってきました。
出会いと納得の出来るまで粘りました(笑)
After that, we went to the music instruments store to buy a mini keyboard.
I persisted until we came to an agreement in the meeting (laughs)

良い出会いが出来ました よ！
We had a nice meeting! (At the store…I think)

今日（正確には昨日ですね。。）は、2年ぶり のテレビ収録（MUSIC JAPAN）に行ってきましたよ！
Today (or yesterday, technically speaking) I went to a recording (MUSIC JAPAN) after 2 years!

何だか久 しぶりで不思議な感じもしつつ、無事に終える事が出来ました。
After a long time I felt this mysterious sensation, but it all ended without problems.

メンバーは、 MUSIC VIDEOで一緒だったクリスチャンと、いつものメンバーのバッキーさんでしたよ！
I was together with (band) bember in the music video, Christian, and the usual member Backy!

こんばんは。YUIです。
Good Evening. It’s YUI.

今日は、お休みだったのでゆっくり過ごせましたよ。
Today, since it was my day off, I spent time restfully.

久しぶりのスポーツマッサージにも行けて、
かなりリフレッシュ出来ました！
(ツアー中には、何回もお世話になっていますよ。)
After a long time I went for a “sports massage”.
I could refresh myself considerably!
(During tours, It helped me many times)

今日は青春時代(笑) に聴いたり、
昔ギターでコピーしていた曲を何曲か紹介したいと思います。
Today I want to introduce some songs I used to listen
and copy with my old guitar in my youthful days (laugh)

ストリートの時によく歌っていた曲。
The songs I usually sang when I did street live.

Cyndi Lauper／Time After Time
Alanis Morissette／Hands Clean
Michelle Branch／Goodbye To You
Bryan Adams／Star
Suzanne Vega／Luka

などなど、keyを変えずにコピーしていて、
比較的女性の曲が多いのですが
男性の曲もたくさん弾いて歌っていましたよ。
And many others, I changed the key to do the copy,
comparatively, there was many females songs but
I played and sang many male songs too.

また機会があったら紹介したいと思います！
If I have another chance I want to introduce more!

今日は、フィッティングをしてきました～！
Today I did fitting~!

最近ママになった、スタイリストの伊達っちがたくさん洋服を持ってきてくれましたよ。
The stylist, who recently became a mom, brought many western-style clothes.

たくさん可愛い洋服があると幸せな気持ちになりますね。
There are many cute western-style clothes, and I got a happy feeling.

(フィッティングとは、撮影に着る衣装合わせの事です。ちなみに、この間の日記に書いていたTDとは曲自体の音のバランスとか調整の事ですよ。)
(“Fitting” means to wear outfits appropriate for a photo. By the way, in the diary the other day I wrote “TD”, which means something like to tune the balance of sound in a song.)

3日坊主とは、この事ですね。
昨 日、スタジオでTDの作業をしていたので、
またその事について日記をアップしようと
Yesterday at the studio, we worked on the TD
So I’ll write about this matter again.

写真を撮っていたのですが…
I took some pictures but…

何 気なく時計をチラッと見たら、テッペンを越えていました。。
不覚でした。
I failed.

何気に何日続くか挑戦していたのですが。。 残念！早い！
.. Too bad ! So fast !

そうそう、今日は2年ぶりの「オリスタ」(ONLY STAR)の
取材に行ってきましたよ！
Oh yeah, today, after two years I went for an interview
with ORISUTA (ONLY STAR)!

お世話になっている方々に久しぶりに会うと
Meeting with people that helped me after a long time

不思議な感じがしますが、
元気そうだと嬉しくなりますね！
I had a strange feeling but
I’m happy because they seem healthy!

いつもありがとうございます！

Speaking of which,

周りで食中毒や風邪などが流行っているみたいなので、
気をつけていきましょう ね。。

母の日！

How is everyone doing?

私は、相変わらずレコーディングをしていますよ！
順調に進んでいます。
I am, as usual, recording!
It is coming along well.

そして、昨日は母の日でしたね！
皆さんは何かしましたか？
私は、母親と一緒に食事をしたりしましたよ。
感謝の気持ちは大切にしていきたいですね！
And, yesterday was Mother’s Day!
Did you all do something?
I went out to eat with my mother.
I want to preserve (treasure) these feelings of gratitude.

今日、雑誌「AERA」出ましたね！
カメラマンの坂田栄一郎さんに初めてお会いしたのですが、
ファンキーで素敵な方でしたよ！
Today, the magazine 「AERA」came out!
This was my first time meeting
the cameraman Sakaguchi Eiichiro-san.
He was a funky and cool guy!

明日の24時から配信の新曲カップリング
『Tonight』の着うた！

Karintou Donuts

最近差し入れで頂いた、かりんとうドーナッツ。
かりんとう饅頭っていうものも美味でしたよ。
Someone brought them into the studio, Karintou Donuts.
Karintou manjuu are also delicious.

一風堂に行った時に撮ったもの。
パッと見たら、名言が書いてありましたよ。
I took this when I was at a rather eccentric temple.
I saw it and was struck that was a wise saying they wrote. (sarcasm?)

5月にもなって、GWです。
心機一転な感じですかね？
It’s now Golden Week in May.
It’s a sense of attitude change, isn’t it?

天気も良かったりもするので、散歩や自転車に乗りたいな～とか思いつつ、スタジオにて着々と順調にレコーディングをしていますよ！
Since the weather has been good, I want to walk and ride my bicycle ~ among
other things, in the studio recording has been going steadily and favourably !

そんな中、HPがリニューアルされました！
イッシーありがとう！
Such as, the homepage has been renewed !

皆さん、リニューアルへのコメントもありがとうございます！！
色合いがまた違った感じで新鮮な感じですね？

そして、「めざましテレビ」にもお邪魔させて頂き、夏フェス「HIGHER GROUND2010」への出演も決定しました！

And, I had the privilege of appearing on “Mezamashi Terebi”,
And I was chosen to perform at Summer Fes. “HIGHER GROUND 2010″ !
Arigatou gozaimasu ! !


初めて出演のイベントは、ワクワクしますね！
ぜひ夏を、フィスを楽しんでいきましょう！
It’s the first performance of the event, I’ll be trembling !
Certainly Summer Fes will be fun !

そして、そんな中(2回目!?)新しいヘッドホンを買いました！
スタジオによってヘッドホンが違って音が全然違うので、
統一したいなぁと思いつつ、聴き比べてみたいなぁと電気屋さんに行ってきましたよ。
Also, for the 2nd(?) time I bought new headphones !
In the studio the sound of the headphones is not different at all,
to keep it the same, I compared them myself like an electric appliance store person. <<< YUI’s so smart. i do that too

自分専用のレコーディング用、持ち歩けるヘッドホン！！(深夜の通販番組みたいですね。笑)
My own personal recording-use headphones ! ! (from like a late-night mail-order program. laugh)



買ったのはいいけど、忘れないようにしないと。。な！
I was considering buying it but wasn’t sure about forgetting or not !

という事で、長くなりましたが
楽しんでいきましょう！！
So with that, it hasn’t been a long time but,

楽しく過ごしていますか？
Have you been having fun?

私は、雑誌の取材やレコーディングの日々を過ごしていますよ。
I went to a magazine photoshoot and keep recording everyday.

そんな中、レコーディングの日に夕食に行こうという事になり
雨だから前から行きたいと思っていた
『餃子の王将』に行けるんじゃないか！と行ってみたら…
One day we where talking if we should go out for a meal or not.
I thought we should’ve go before because it was raining.
Why don’t we go to “Gyoza King”?! If we go to check it out…

行けてしまいました！
So we went!

王将クリアです！
It’s King CLEAR!

詳しくは、近藤ひさしさんのドクツボに載っていると思うので(笑)
ぜひ、気になった方は覗いてみて下さいね！
I think this was mentioned in detail by Hisashi-san in dokutsubo tho (laugh)
please take a peak without any worries ok?



それからいつもお世話になっている
ヘアメイクのヨウジさんに、髪をカットして頂いている時に、
何気なくハサミを見ていたら…
After that, when i was having a haircut by
the person who is always helping me, hair stylist Youji-san, <– I hate you!
I saw his/her scissors unintentionally.

見たことのない持ち方だなぁと思って
I thought “i’ve neeever seen that way of holding a scissor”

聞いてみたら教えてくれましたよ！
When he heard, he told me how!



いつもカットして頂いているのに、気付かなかったのか不思議ですが。。。
Even thoug I always get my hair cut, I had never noticed, such a curiosity…

私は、普段ハサミを使う時は
人差し指と中指と親指を、トッテに入れる使い方なのですが
プロのヨウジさんは薬指と親指をトッテに入れて
人差し指と中指を上から添えて、固定するのだそうです。
When I use scissors normally
I hold it using my index, middle finger and thumb, but
The PRO Youji-san uses ring finger and thumb.
Index and middle finger accompany from above, to fix it

(持ち方には個人差がありますね。ちなみにイッチィ☆は
中指と親指をトッテに入れて、人差し指を添える、でした。)
(There are differences when using things isn’t it? By the way, Icchi☆
uses middle finger and thumb, the index supports.)

この持ち方が基本になるそうです！
It looks like the way of holding scissors became something fundamental!

すごいですね！
Isn’t it great!

難しかったですよ。
It was hard to do!

あと、最近良く聴いているCDを。
Eric Hutchinson『Sound Like This』 このアルバムは雰囲気も曲も全部好きなのですが、
特に7曲目『All Over Now』は、何回も聴いてしまいます。
And then, a CD i’ve been listening to often.

I love the mood and songs of this album.
specially, the song Nº7 『All Over Now』, I’ve been listening to it over and over.

最後に、今日もレコーディングをしているのですが、
ナオキスイーツさんからスイーツの差し入れを頂きましたよ！
finaly, I recorded today as well and
We recieved sweets from Naoki-sweets-san!

シュークリームかなと思いきや、クロワッサンだそうです。
美味しかったなぁ！シバチャン、ありがとう！
I thougth it was “chou a la creme” (cream-filled pastry), but it was crosisants.
It was deliciouuus! Shiba-chan, thank you!

先日作業をし たスタジオに
バランスボールが置いてあって
休憩中にみんなで
乗ったりしていたのですが
The other day, a balance ball
was brought to the studio.
Everyone took a break
to get on the ball,

使い方を間違っている方が
ひとりだけ。。。
but one person used it
in the wrong way.

いました。。。
That one person was…



乗っけちゃいましたね(笑)
She placed the ball on top of her (laugh)

たくさんありがとうございます。

そうそう、最近、
森山良子さんのコンサートに行ってきましたよ！
Just recently I went to see Moriyama Ryouko’s concert !


全編とても素敵なライブで
overall it was fantastic live

そんな中、印象的だったのは「ざわわ～」でお馴染みの
「さとうきび畑」と「涙そうそう」でした。
in the middle of that, the thing really impressive was [zawawa~] of wellknown [satoukibihatake] and [namida sou sou].

心が洗われるようなコンサートでした。
It was concert that could wash my heart.

また、たくさんの刺激を受けつつ、
also, a lot of impression,

楽しみながらレコーディングの日々を過ごしたいと思います。
while having fun I think I’ll spend time with daily recording

皆さんも寒さに負けず楽しんでいきましょう！

YUI Diary (2010.04.12) — 『to Mother』

『to Mother』


皆さん、こんばんは！
YUIです。 Good evening everyone, it’s YUI.

突然ですが、ついに新曲が出来ました！！
『to Mother』というタイトルです。
It’s a bit sudden, but we finally managed to finish the new song!!
It is called “To Mother”

少しスローテンポなメロディーが印象的な
自信作になりましたよ。
It’s a slightly down tempo feel in the melody
that I have become very proud of.

最近は応援歌などを歌わせて頂く機会が多かったのですが、
今回はもっと自分自身の事や
大切に思う事について考えて書いてみました。
Recently I’ve had the opportunity to do a lot of songs
for other projects, but this time it was more
something for myself, something I have carefully considered,
and thought about writing.

このタイトルを直訳すると「母親へ」となりますが、
母親はもちろん
広い意味で、聴いてくれる皆さんにとって
「偉大だ」と感じるものに想いを重ねて
聴いてもらえたらと思います。
This title’s literal translation “To Mother”
Mothers, of course, in a broad sense,
as far as everyone listening is concerned
feel a “She’s great” kind of affection
if you repeatedly listening.

早く聴いてもらいたいです！
楽しみにしていてくださいね！！
I want you all to hear it soon!
Please look forward to it!!

みなさん、こんにちは！

先日行った
ジャケット撮影の様子をお届けしますね
We did a report about the photoshoot made the other day, right?


大きな窓のある
室内での撮影だったのですが、
部屋に差し込んでくる陽の光が
とてもきれいでした。
In the place where we took the pictures
there was this big window and
the light of the sun illuminated the entire room
It was pretty beautiful



そんな光に身を任せているYUIは
とても心地良さそうで
自然と優しい表情になっていましたよ。
Surrended by the light, there was YUI
looking very comfortable
with a natural and kind expresion in her face.



今回も素敵な感じになったと思いますよ。
明日は音源も解禁ですね、お楽しみに！
